View Full Version : bulk cycle with light weights?

I've planned this bulk cycle consisting of enanthate, deca, dbol, and winny for months now. I will be starting very soon. However, I have a bad shoulder injury that I've been going to a chiropractor three days a week for. This is a damn nagging injury. I'm forced to do lighter weights. I'm doing my sets with the lighter weights with very slow reps and concentrating highly on the negative. The sets burn like hell when I'm done. On a bulk cycle, I usually emphasize priority on strength and weight I can put up. Probably why I have this shoulder problem now. Has anyone ever done a successful bulk cycle with lighter weights and concentrating on the reps more?

if it was me i would hold off on your cycle untill your shoulder gets better, maybe you should take a week or two off from the gym and let that shoulder heal up before you start your cycle.

I've had this lingering shoulder problem for a long time now. I've been going to the chiropractor 3 days a week for the past 6 weeks. It's getting slightly better. He wanted me to take 2 months off with absolutely no weights. I said kiss my ass. Every day I've been debating on whether to start the cycle, hold off for a while, or take time off of the gym. I would hate life if I couldn't workout.

well I dont know what to tell ya, maybe just try to do light shoulder work for awhile and try to get the should as close to 100% as possible before you start your cycle. I know its hard to take time of the gym, but sometimes its what ya gotta do. I would think 2 months is a bit excessive, i dont think i could take that long of a break either ;)

Ive had problems with a strained rotator for quite some time now mostly because I wouldnt take an adequet amount of time off for it to heal. But anyway, I decide to work through it on a cycle and it felt great while on but as soon as I came off I crashed hard. I couldnt do bar bench at all for 6 weeks following the cycle, only dumbells with lighter weights.


I would hold off, Cause you know once everything starts feeling good and your strength increaces four going to say "I can add more weight" and your going to be soo pissed if you hurt yourself worse.

Just my opinion, good luck either way.
