I've been taking 4-5g of ala ED. Does taking it before a high fat meal increase my chances of getting fat? should i not take it b4 a high fat meal? I've been taking like 1g before every high carb meal, but what to do about high fat meals? thanks, bigjosh

I don't think so, but not sure it'd have any effect (if you aren't taking in carbs with the high fat meal). If you are taking carbs, I'd think it'd still get the carbs into the muscles and out of the bloodstream.

As for what to take during high fat meals, I read an article recently (can't remember where) that said taking Chitosan (a fat blocker) with high fat meals really does help. The article also touted ALA (for use with carbs), and suggested that (obviously) it's best to stay away from the high fat meals in the first place as a better alternative.

4-5 grams every day? That is alot of ALA! Anyway to answer your question the ALA will not have an effect one way or another when it comes to fat. It only takes the sugars from carbs and transports it to the muscles.

Only thing that I found was I got heartburn if my meal was higher in fat than usual.

Yea I am taking alot of ala, but i get it cheap so i can afford extreme doseages... I've heard that you can stay in ketosis by taking 1g before every carb meal... That hasn't worked for me, but I am trying these high doses w/ hopes of getting some insulin like effects.... I dunno if it is working... I'm on cycle in week 6, and up 17 pounds and been eating 4-5g ala ED...
