My ab challenge!!

Good stuff! Our puppy has been enjoying Silk's plank time. She's still panting from the sprints

Anyway, so since The Dude already has photobucket so as you perv's (lol) can see he posted a few pics showing you all what I mean by me describing my midsection as "wide/thick". I'm not saying I'm fat or anything. I'm quite happy with my physique, just seems like my stomach is a bit distended at times. Of course I'm flexing my abs for the pics, lol

I know what you are saying. I've gained 30 pounds since joining this site and I feel that my waist is wider/thicker just like you are saying. But, the pictures look great.
 
Thanks! It's "worse" when I'm not flexing my stomach like I am in the pics. If I'm standing there relaxed it looks like I have a belly, but it's just my ab muscles popping out. Idk if this is making any sense and hopefully I'm not sounding like a dumb girl, lol... Sounds like you know what I mean Ox. I don't even know if there is a "fix", but I figure there's no downside to working on my core so why not, right? Plus a little friendly competition is fun :) I had to take a few days off (crazy work hours), but I'm back at it today so stay tuned! I know Dean D. is already at 4 min. so I got a lot of catching up to do, Lol
 
I have to flex mine hard any time I have my shirt off. I haven't been able to do my planks often enough, so far. Friday I did two sets of 45 and 40 seconds.
 
My Wife skipped working out for 2 months, and I trained her last week, had her do a 2:05 min plank at the end. Beast.

Have any of you done vacuums? They suck balls, but tighten your waist.

Yes, a beast! Tell her she's my motivation, lol... also, she's welcome to jump on board and join this plank challenge. She's already doubled my time, lol!

Yes I know exactly what you mean and no you do not sound like a dumb girl. I know a few professional bodybuilders that unless they are flexing their abs they look like they have a big gut even though it's an eight pack.

I have a naturally thick waist and hips (built for twisting) and when I have any layer of fat I look bloated.
 
I started the plank challenge tonight. Just to have a place to be accountable I figured I would post up. 1 minute rest between sets

Set 1 1:47
Set 2 1:15
Set 3 0:58

Never really done planks before. We will see how the next 30 days go. I will try and post up eod or so.

Iron, you've got some good numbers for this being your day 1!
YAY... I'm excited!! And I'm the same way, I need something to hold me accountable and this seems to be doing the trick!
 
Day 4 (planks)

Set 1 - 1 min. 27 sec.
Set 2 - 1 min. 4 sec.
Set 3 - 58 sec.

Im getting there. I've been putting in extra hours at work (midnight shift, yuck!) so I had to take a few days off, but I'm back at it. Depending on how sore I am, I might give it another go tomorrow and try to beat these numbers. By the time I get to the 3 min. mark, Dean D. will be at min. 8, lol!
 
Silk you need to put up progress pic's. I don't have a six pack, still have my 2 liter. :p
