Bremelanotide binds to the 1 and 4 melanocortin receptors; MCR1 and MCR4. Remember, the side effect of Melanotan II is instant erections. Bremelanotide causes erections in men just like melanotan but also causes the same nausea that melanotan does. This may be why its marketed to women as a different drug, it seems to offer no benefit over Melanotan II for men.
