The Mental Progression of Coaching

There’s a reason I choose to pursue coaching full time. It started as a small side job during my undergrad, with my ultimate thought being that it would always remain a small side thing; that my career was waiting. Six years or so later, that has never come to fruition.
▫️
There was a moment in my life that I decided it was changing. I wasn’t driven by others, I wasn’t shoehorning it into my other “priorities”. I wanted to change for myself, so badly, that there was no other option, and I did it.
▫️
Although I have a few seasoned athletes this year, up until this point, every single person I’ve worked with hasn’t come to from established physical greatness, but from a desire to pursue progression so strong that they wouldn’t allow it to be any other way; and they didn’t. That’s what I relate to.
▫️
I was telling an athlete today that I was proud of her for taking back control physically and mentally after a bad post show period. The truth is at ANY time you can tell yourself “I’m taking control”. Even if you’re at the worst starting point in the world, want it more than anything..whether it’s mental progression, physical, financial, relationship, and decide today is the time. I promise you will not falter.
