BA and BB content is homebrews info

Hello all,
I want to put this out there and possibly clear up some long overdue myths and help reduce PIP for most of you that homebrew.
There has been a lot of time and research put into this post so please understand this is NOT opinion here and is actual science, granted its not exact but I have tested it myself with great success. In addition I have verified with chemical engineers and a few from pharm companies to determine BA content in their products and they were willing to share that info with me since I spent 15 years in the business myself.

Excessive preservative. If too much benzyl Alcohol is used to formulate the solution inflammation and pain may result. Pharma grade usually contains 0.9% Benzyl alcohol where the common senses states UGL products contain on average 2% and most homebrews. Anything above 1.2% offers no added anti-microbial effects. Due to water soluble nature of benzyl alcohol tissue irritation of this nature has been known to “travel” as the excessive alcohol disperses via the blood stream. This is most common with injection into the quads (vastus lateralis). The pain travels down toward the knee.

Benzyl Benzoate: Benzyl Benzoate is primarily used topically as a treatment for lice and scabies infections. When used correctly and under the care of a licensed physician, Benzyl Benzoate can eliminate lice and scabies infections completely. Benzyl Benzoate works by damaging the nervous systems of these infectious pests and can be obtained over-the-counter without a prescription. No kidding, its also used as a solvent to thin and reduce the viscosity of injections. Do most of you even know why you use BB? Is it because someone told you too? Truth is most solutions do not require BB and in compounding is most commonly where Bb is used, or with thick oils such as sesame.
Given the chemical function of benzyl benzoate, I can see why its used as it will keep the hormone at the injection site after the lighter BA is dispersed. Its used as a solvent and as mentioned also thins the gear when in multiple compounds and in thicker oils. most individuals have no issues with BB at dosages under 18%. Most common usage is 15-20% when 10% can be used with great results. With volumes over %18 you can get PIP, as this will keep the hormone at the site longer and with the muscle already irritated from the injection you can expect a 4 day site soreness with the use of 2% or more BA and over 18% BB.

Summary: If you are going to use BB, use it at a low dose of volume per container (18% or less) and use it with a thicker oil or when compounding substances such as Sust, or EQ/test blend, ETC. You can use it as a solvent or co-solvent, but unless the aforementioned applies.
When using BA 0.9% per volume or 1.2% should be max used. If proper filtration and sterile equipment is used this should be efficient and reduce PIP in most brews.

Hope this info helps some of you who take the time to read it.

Great post! I agree with everything you said 100 percent... Most people put WAY too much BA in their brews.

Good post. I've been using 2% for all my brews just in case i'm slightly off with my volumes, but i'll go lower on my next brews. I'll need to do the same with BB as well as i've been sticking with 20% for almost everything because I don't want my brew to crash.

It crashed a lot due to the type of carrier, and you always have to fully dissolve the solvent with the powder. I do this every time, then slowly add heated oil. Every powder has a melting sand solubility temp range. If you follow those basic principles you should be g2g.
Excessive solvents make injectable unbearable almost as bad as getting an infection itself. I recently started using apricot oil with 0.9 BA and 2. BB I absolutely love it!

apricot!? how is it compared to gso/safflower/cso in terms of thickness?

How would you compare apricot to mct? I've been using gso, but for my next batch i'm going to try something new.

thats exactly what i was wondering! havent seen the viscosity rating w apricot, but im interested now. apricot might go really well with Tren too

i justn recently brewed some compounds and i used ehat powder said in the 0.9% ba.. and everything went well and pinned great.. ill never go back to 2% ever again .. lol thanks powder.. next im going to your bb% as well.. :)

U should try it if u havnt. Credit goes to powder. He says this is how the pharmaceutical labs do it.. and he even said tht all u need it 2% bb as well.. amazing info.

... LAB 67 ...

Dude I put 0.9% ba in tht blood red TRA. And it came out perfect.. . Props to powder on tht one..

Injection PIP should be smooth unless its over 100mg/ml. Glad someone listens to my advice.

HEY POWDER .. ILL ALWAYS LISTEN WHEN U SAY SOMETHING BRO... UR THE MASTER CHEF.. :).. IM ALL EARS BRO... LOL I ALSO MADE MY TRE @ 200MG/ML AND IT CAME OUT SMOOTH AS WELL ,,,
ALWAYS 0.9 % BA FOR ME NOW... IM INTERESTED ON USING UR BB% NOW FOR THE NEXT BREWS.. YOU ROCK..

"2% BB and 0.9% in the Deca at 300mg/ml came out great, Your formula works awesome bro!! Thanks for the advice. Max"

Got this PM, thought I would post it here. Maybe next I will work on a solution that dissolves raws for oral use that's safe and fully dissolves them.
