Triptorelin is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist that is commonly used in hypogonadic men to restore natural testosterone production(usually during PCT). Triptorelin is prescribed for prostate cancer, treatment works by decreasing test production over time. HOWEVER, it stimulates both LH and FSH and will actually cause an increase in test production before it suppressed it. This is the sweet spot time that bodybuilders can take advantage of its ability to raise test production.
In contrast, hCG works by stimulating only LH levels, so many view triptorelin as a more effective option for PCT. The key with triptorelin is dosing. The graph shows the effects of a single 100mcg shot of triptorelin, and the results are staggering. However, if you use too much, it will cause the opposite effect. Triptorelin used a day 1 of PCT at 100mcg might be enough to really kick start your natural test production, and then can also be further enhanced with the use of SERMs like nolvadex or clomid. In fact, a pilot Italian study showed that a single dose of triptorelin raised natural test production to 700ng/dL and 3 weeks later his levels were still in the normal range. Might be something to consider instead of the typical hCG which can desensitize your receptors in higher doses over long periods of time.
