Contest week and shaving

I take my last shower and shave on Friday morning, than apply two coats of pro-tan in the afternoon, and one the next morning. Don't make yourself miserable, sleeping in that shit sucks. Wait until Friday, you can do a coat every two hours, but you should not need more than 3. Also, shave you legs and abs on Thu, because shaving irritates the skin and makes it hold water for 24-36 hours

1 shaving doesnt make you hold water
2 you shouls start out about 6 weeks so you skin will get used to the irratation
3 if you have FAIR skin skin try protan on tues-wed
4 use hair dryer to bake in pro tan'
5 use proten comp bronze with or without the vasodilotor added to it I made me mr WHITIE (no racial comments intended fo my afroamericn bros her in just a pail dude) dream tan is OUT i wont recomend it for any EVERAGAIN it cost me my placing last weekend thats for sure

Shaving with a razor may release Subcutaneous Edema (SQ). Have you ever scrached your skin's surface by accident and noticed the swelling aroung the actual scratch? That's SQ Edema. I start shaving at about 12 weeks out to allow my skin to get use to it.

and dp i havent ryed dream tan yet, alot of guys says it runs, but on the other hand if ur conditioned properly and not holding the subq water then you wont sweat and run ur dream tan, how did the dream tan effect you bro? A freind of mine won the keystone classic overall with dream tan for the first time ever and it looked great, made me want to try it, but i like 3 coats of protan and then jantan competiton tan, nice and dark for me

For what it's worth, I use 4 coats of protan and then dream tan the morning of, only touching up and adding in some hotstuff to get the shine again for the night show.
I will never NOT use dream tan. The color is perfect and makes me look incredible. I don't like that it never really sets up but there have been no other alternatives that I have found, yet, to provide the same color without the mess. Also, it is a bitch cuz you can't use any other color of trunks than black, without it getting all over the place and looking like shit.
I think it helps that I have a commercial tanning bed in my home, also. I am never short on color come contest day. I end up having just as many people complimenting me on my color as I do my physique.

Just an fyi for all those into competing...
I found the best colour comes from using tanning beds tosome degree at least to get a decent base and also some natural sun if possible. When you are looking for more colour from the sun or beds and have a base, try baby oil with an eye dropper of iodine...this will darken you even more. Once tanning is completed ..usually 4-5 days out....uv can make you hold water sub cu so i always stop early...then protan 4-6 coats depending on your skin...if you want take a light shower...cool water between 3rd and 4th coat. As dpsquat says a hairdryer to bake it on works great. For the final touch i have used Jan Tana competition tan right before going on stage. Basically i have replaced posing oil with the competition tan...put it on liberally and then spray light with vasodilator and u are good to go. I was just informed by a close friend of a product called "Final Touch" it is supposed to be great but i dont know too much about it yet...i will find out the details and let you all know.
