MY CUTTING DIET...PLEASE CRITIQUE...

To drop my BF from 10 to 5, a trainer at my gym told me last night to take in about 2,000 calories broken up into 150 g. Carbs, 250 g. Protein, 55-60 g. Fat (30%C/50%P/22%F) every day except the day before and day of leg day. On those days, I should load carbs, taking in 2,900 calories with 350 g. Carbs, 250 g. Protein, and 55-60 g. Fat (50%C/35%P/15%F).

He also mentioned I should do low intensity cardio (135 BPM or less) 3 times per week. According to him, higher intensities would burn away muscle tissue.

With cutting as my priority, my current diet is this...

Roughly 2,700 calories...
250 g. protein
330 g. carbs
40 g. fat

Meal 1
7:30am
11 egg whites (1 yoke) w/ fat free cheese
1 cup oatmeal w/ sliced banana
1 xenadrine rfa
WATER

Meal 2
10am
MRP...1 Prolab Lean Mass Matrix Shake (40P, 40C, 8F) mixed w/ 1 scoop Swole (creatine blend) and 5 grams glutamine

Meal 3
12:30pm
2 cans tuna mixed w/ fat free mayo
2 potatoes w/ skin
1 cup veggies
1 xenadrine rfa
WATER

Meal 4
4pm
MRP...1 Prolab Lean Mass Matrix Shake

Meal 5
6:30pm
Postworkout Shake...Prolab NLarge2 (50P, 85C, 8F) mixed w/ 1 scoop Swole and 10 grams glutamine

Meal 6
7:30pm
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup (measured dry) brown rice
1 cup veggies
WATER

Meal 7
10pm
Protein shake...2 Scoops Prolab Whey Isolate mixed in WATER/OJ (48P, 10C, 2F)


I'm also doing 30 mins of high intensity cardio 3 x weekly and lifting 5 x weekly. Trying to drop BF to 5% by mid April. Stats are...6'2", 208 lbs at about 10% now.

Please share opinions on my current cutting diet vs the trainer's suggestion.
 
sorry man i been away a bit,lol.

anyhow the low intensity cardio is on the money, and ur diet looks good the way it is bro i wouldnt change much, i personaly wouldnt eat 350 grams of carbs to drop 5% in 8 weeks time, i would eat a bit less, and also drop the fat grams down to under 30 to 40 , its how i do it anyhow, makes for one miserable person though,
 
Thanks Press...I'll try keeping my carbs in the 250 range with fat in the 30-40s for a month and see how my progress is. How much cardio do you do when cutting and when do you do it?
 
increase cardio every week up until comp.cut carbs back and drop fat aliitle .you know your body you are your own judge just be honest with RESELF!you will have to experiment with your own system!GOOD LUCK BELIEVE ME THE CONTEST DIET SSSSSUUCCCKKKKSSS!!!!!!!

i dont know your wt and i dont want to guess the what i would do is rotate your carbs say 250 g on high day then 175 then 100-125. This will motivate your metabolism a bit! add in flax seed oil at 2 tbls a day one in morning and one at night!
Now when your dropping your carbs bump up the protien say 300 on the 175 and 350 on the low day! this will keep your cals around them same! use Natural p/b to fight craving but dont overindulge LOL:)

Stick the low intensity cardio and add in bcaa ! Make sure your getting in the fibor from veggies to aid in the digestion of the protiens! and dont forget the multivitamin!!!!!!

i didnt read your whole post! you did post your wt! my wt is a tad high than yours and I'll follow a very similar plan!

I appreciate the good info. Tomorrow, I'm going to get the BCAAs and Flax Oil. I also need to stock up on some more fibrous veggies...I like lima beans, they seem to have plenty of fiber...good choice? Oh, and I have plenty of natty PB on hand, moderation is hard :D ...Another question, if I begin to lose strength while on this diet, am I doing something wrong? I've been told I should maintain my current strength while cutting but to increase my fat intake if I begin to lose the strength. And I had a trainer check my BF last night with calipers and it's lower than I thought ...7.8%, so I'm halfway to my goal of 5%!

thanks for the info pumpseeker,dp,presser.should i use the same amount at 5'6" 175.
also dp could you find me that study on bcaa.my partner and i are going to use it.i read a simalar article in
bodymuscle mag.it included high amounts of bcaa,zma,glutamine.
