contest prep time

I will be starting my diet 16 weeks out like DPSQUAT suggests. He likes to start it out slow and get used to the diet. I like the theory and I think it would help me retain muscle and you could coast in if you are peaking to soon or hit it harder if you are not on schedule.

Also depends on your body type like right now I'm in the bulking hard and just tonight at the gym some guy asked me how do I get so ripped. so if your just naturally vascular and lean then you don't have to diet so far out. Why put yourself through the dieting torture any longer than you have to. ;)

yup, everyone is different...depends on your body type. Endomorphs need more time dieting, while the ectomorphs need less.

Yep, BStrong is correct. I am ectomorphic, and I respond well to heavy androgens while dieting to retain the muscle. In fact, I usually try hard to grow into a show, rather than diet down in bodyweight.
Hey Ken69Dahl: Since you are in Seattle, will you be at the Emerald Cup this year? I will most likely be in the heavyweight class. I live in northern, Ca., but got my plane tickets already, so I probably will be there.

Re: Contest diet

16 weeks is the way to go!
Take it slow, preserve muscle, gradually add in all the tricks one by one. Ease into cardio and you will retain most of your muscle. Every week you tighten up or add in a trick to up the ante!
Peace
