post work out meal

Rice Cakes? I still don't like those things. This is one of my shakes I do post-workout:

2 Servings 100% whey Protein
10 Grams Creatine
15 Grams Glutamine
1 1/2 Cups Ice
2 Cup Skin Milk
40 Grams of Dextrose Carbs

After I drink this I clean-up then eat a real meal. tentitan
 
DAMN guys!! Why do you guys insist on eating such boring and tasteless shit when it comes to a postworkout drink?

This is the time that your body actually NEEDS shittier carbs. Now, we all know that shitty carbs taste better, so why the insistence on eating so 'clean' when it doesn't benefit you as much?

Look, you guys gotta throw in some low fat or fat free cookies, jam or preserves, no fat or low fat frozen yogurt or low or no fat ice cream, marshmallow whip (that shit is GOOD) or some brown sugar added to some oatmeal. Hell, those packaged oatmeal thingies in the packets - you know the ones, you had em when you were a kid and they tasted so damn good you wanted them more than you wanted the 'chocolate frosted sugar bombs'.

I use reduced fat oreo cookies or fat free snackwell cookies in my postworkout shake and I am less than 3 weeks out! Just don't crazy on the AMOUNT of carbs.

Just throw in some shitty carbs and a bunch of whey. Mix it with water and ice and make it as tasty as possible.

Just my opinion but..........

I totally agree w/skip. I take in 60 g carb and 3 snack well fat free choc chip cookies or 3 of their low fat wafer thingies...
 
I'm with Skip-I train at 5am so my postworkout meal is around 7am-whole eggs(4-5) bacon, sausage, 1/2 grapefruit, french toast, coffee and juice.
 
Post workout, if I mix up my own shake is pretty shitty if I must say so.....lately, to increase my caloric intake, I'll mix Turkey Hill French Vanilla Ice cream with two scoops vanilla whey, one banana and a few vanilla wafers.....holy banana pudding batman!!
Taste's awesome, and I don't have to worry about feeling hypo from the humalog.....I know, it's fatty, but my bodyfat's not increasing as of late, so why change it??

Shake the crap out of this sucker to get the PB mixed up and you'll thank me-tastes great and very clean(Don't bust my balls Skip-hell if I looked like you I'd be eating freakin' Oreos by the handful!!)

I won't bust your balls, bro. I like your balance of some slow carbs and some brown sugar and raisins. I MIGHT leave the fat out so that the carbs can get rollin' a bit quicker but I gotta say that the natural peanut butter is a favorite of mine. I LOVE that stuff. I am sooo with you on this one, bro. Hell, I love my milk too. I just don't use it during precontest. Get me offseason even when I am staying lean and I HAVE to have my milk.

change my post work out meal 2 weeks ago to 44grams whey pro and 2 fat free snackwell devils food cake cookies. I have drop more weight doing this and the damn cookies are good.

i know this is old but i dont care. skip, that sounds like a great idea for post-workout carbs but dont those sugars mainly consist of high fructose corn syrup? from my research, HFCS serves no purpose in bodybuilding. they do not replenish muscle glycogen but rather in the liver. please correct me if im wrong. im adding lean mass right now while not adding any fat. i only need diet food, just more amounts. oats,chicken breast, lean steaks, eggs, protein powder, dextrose, natty pb, udos oil, greens. 6-7 meals a day cut carbs after 7pm if i sleep around midnight. if it doesnt matter reduced fat cookies or dextrose, then ill take the cookies, by all means. lol
