Application of pro tan

When I begin to apply pro tan, how do I apply it to my face? Do I apply it each time I do my body?? How do you put it on your face? Do you just close your eyes and let it go or do you sponge it on around your face?

my wife did my face and head the first couple coats, and then just left it alone after that. She applied the large areas with the sponge, then did detail work with q-tips, although a makeup sponge or brush probably would have been better

Here is trick with Protan. Go to Home Depo and get a staining Pad (sponge). It covers a large amount of area quickly. You can use the small make-up sponge for the small areas.

You can also take a small paint brush and do yuor cuts the first few applications. After you place afew more apps on you can't noticable see where the brush was but it does accent the cuts. Helps when the abs aren't coming in well too.

even beter trick, just spray the shit on the body, it soaks up evenly and does not leave a combat looking tan, thast how my and my wife do it for our shows, i would not steer yas wrong, spray it directly on the skin in areas a maybe 3 inches from one another and it all soaks through the skin very very evenly, then we use jantana comp tan one hour before the stage

yeah talk about saving time, my god our first shows ever we took hours brushing the shit on perfectly, lol, when it just can be spayed on, be sure to exfoliate very well and dry off very well for it to work so well

well this is what I did for nationals and I had the best tan i ever have...take a cup and dump the tan in the cup..then take the brush and dip it in the cup and paint the shit on....it will get you really dark and it makes it alot fast to cover a big area...

Agree with the guys above, just spray in on and spread it around, once it dries it evens out.

I like 2-3 coats the day before the show, a very light shower on the morning of the show just to take off any of that "dirty buildup" that can some times occur (30 second rinse with no soap) and then apply Dreamtan backstage before pumping up.

Looks very trick.

I believe its this months or last months Muscular Development that has a good article on tanning and protan before a contest.
It is a Q&A forum that is answered by Chad Nicholls.
Good info

Hold up... this is the thing i fuckd up my first 2 shows lol.

You are saying if u spray it on like 3 inches apart, u dont need to brush it at all? I did 3 layers last time and was still too light. Im fuckin italian and i was dark tanned b4 i applied anything haha. Judges said i was too light.

Yeah but how are you supposed to "spray" it on??

I was gonna ask the same question......and, do you guys ever use "Hot Stuff", is a spray-on vasoldiolator (sp)....works well to bring out the veins/vascularity.

tan

spraying on seems to work for those we a GOOD base tan
for those that are fair skinned brushing on a few days early then light shower to blend works wonders.. Protan has a NEW bronzer that they had for us back stage this year at Jr nationals that SMOKES dream tan and is half the cost

Protan comes in a spray bottle along with a sponge applicator. Spraying worked great for me and yes I had an awesome base tan. I'm puertorican so I tan well and get fairly dark :) Tan application was fairly quick, much quicker that brushing it on. That really sucked!

OK I've been to the Protan site but I still can't find the new tanning spray you are talking about DP. A name would help please. I've never used Protan before so I don't know which of their products is old and which is new.

Thought I'd chime in here. When my friend told me about this, I was like, yeah, right. She was. She's a nat. level (5th a coupe years agao) Master's BB'er. Has won all of the Cal shows and works them all for Lindsay, etc.

This takes like 2 coats MAX (2nd is a touch up if 1st is done right)

Pour the pro tan in something (the ice bucket at the hotel), use a hand towel or washcloth and just smear in on. Keep going over the same area as it dries until it looks right. E.g., do the arm once (shoulder --> arm--> forearm --> hand), then again (shoulder is dried by now) and then again.

People at the Cali show and even some shows (gonna sound like BS, but Jay Cutler asks for her) ask for her. She did this for me at my last show, and I was, like, "WHAT THE PHUK!?!? How'd you do that?..." LOL

Give it a shot...

my technique:

the day before show, spray it on- a have someone with rubber gloves massage it in lightly, then blow dry. after drying apply second and 3rd coat the same way, then dry. no showering allowed now.
day of show, apply with sponge applicator avoiding elbows, hands, feet and knees. blow dry and there ya go. if its a little streaky some body lotion will help smooth it out.
