Trial run of shitloading concept - 3 weeks out

I have a close friend who I am assisting with his contest prep for the NABBA Australian Nationals on 13 September (yeah we are both Aussies).

He set his target for this show 12 months ago and slowly commenced dropping from an off season high of 130 kg (approx 290 lbs) down to the point where he was 117 kg (approx 260 lbs) 16 weeks out.

We had been formulating a strategy to use a modified "shitloading" concept anyway as one of his friends (an IFBB Pro) uses a similar approach. It was around this time that I met Skip (over at Bolex as it happens) and we have had a number of conversations since then.

I would like to publicly thank Skip for sharing his knowledge and providing feedback to me, an unknown on the other side of the world. He is a true gentleman

I am putting up this thread to detail the approach we used, show the pics (before and after) and seek feedback from the members here.

The prep went something like this.

Wednesday

Diet: 6 meals of chicken breast or steak with fibrous veggies or salad.
Training: normal routine: 40 min cardio in morning, weight training in afternoon followed by another 20 min cardio.
Water: 12 litres throughout the day
Aldactone: 25 mg at 15.00 and 25 mg at 21.00

Thursday

Same as Wednesday

Friday: (up to 18.00)

Diet: 4 meals of chicken breast or steak with fibrous veggies or salad.
Training: NONE.
Water: 12 litres throughout the day (STOP at 18.00)
Aldactone: 50 mg at 15.00 and 50 mg at 21.00

Friday night:

20.00: 12 iu slin followed by garlic bread, small pizza, large pasta with creamy sauce, french fries and small sugary soda (he was wary of slin)

23.00 10 iu slin followed by icecream ,cake, custard tarts, chocolate etc etc (you get the picture)

Saturday:

Morning meal: Fillet steak, 4 fried eggs, 6 pancakes with syrup (NO FLUIDS)

Snacked on sugary candy and nuts throughout the morning.

Anyway, attached is the "Before shots". I will post the "After" shots with some comment after these ones.

The "After" shots........

Here are the "after" shots. I would be very interested in your views and comparisons.

My observation is that the process worked well, he was very full
and tight on the Saturday morning with separation in the legs that was not there before. When I consider that he did not do the full prep (ie he kept training until the day before) and he has only JUST dropped the long acting test and deca and switched to prop, tren, winny etc we are pretty happy.

He did seem to hit his peak around 11.00 am and then fade a bit
after that. We didnt take any aldactone or moduretic on the actual day but might add that in.

The other thing is that we took 400 mg of AMP5 and while he got
the light-headed feeling etc it didnt make much difference to his condition. I was surprised by this and wondered if any of you guys have experienced this before??

The end result is that he was 108.9 kg on the Wednesday morning and by Saturday he was 106.8 and still full.

Check the pics out and see what you think for yourself.

And a close up of the legs.

Expect these to harden up considerably over the next 3 weeks as we back off the heavy training and ease up on the cardio and the final water-retaining androgens work their way out of his system.

Thats all folks, keen for any/all feedback.

regards

Encouraging trial run results

After pics look good - noticable hardening, better definition, etc. Did he drink any water on Sat morning? Did the softening around 11 occur without having consumed any water? Did he run into any problems with bloat or non-aromatic gasious discharge - lol? He does not look like he had any problem with looking bloated.

Shitloading does work if done correctly - you have proven it again. It's fun thinking about how you can be eating a ton of good tasting stuff the night before and morning of the show while most of the other guys are still choking down plain tasting rice, broccoli and potatoes. I mixed in some traditional carb up carbs like a sweet potato w/ cin sugar and butter along with the crap carbs. It also went down fairly well without a liquid chaser.

I stayed away from the dairy products, but perhaps there is no harm in that so close to the end? Don't know what Skips opinion on dairy products for the shitloading is. Ice Cream sure sounds good - but is there a liquid/fluid content issue that takes away from the water manipulation???

Maddog

Good points you raise here. Fluids were kept to almost zero on the Saturday and Aldactone was not used after 9.00 pm Friday night.

When we do this for real on 13 September we intend to keep the Aldactone in so that we can compensate for any flattening out by adding some water back in.

In response to your other questions, he suffered no gastro-intestinal trouble at all so we are not going to bother with combining some clean carb meals, just go hard with the shitload on the night before the show and that morning.

Hopefully we will be bringing home a trophy for our efforts.
