Hey Dan!!!

dont let yourself get down bro. I know better than anybody things happen sometimes and you just need to use those things as a tool to get better and stronger.

what do you think was the reson you were off?

which number were you, sean? Dan told me (afterwards) that you were in the class... I have some pics of some of the guys, and a couple pics of the full lineup

If you have some pics I'd love to see them because my parents didn't get to snap any.

Long story short, I'm not sure what happened but I weighed in 2.75 pounds over my middleweight class--

not so good

I was 62, far right if you were looking at the stage.

i got 5th in a class of ten weighed in at 196.25 little too tall for the lt hvy class gonna move up to heavy next time.

cool, sean - I have a lot of pics of you in the full lineup, and in the 2nd grouping. I think you'd have done well in mids!

I was right over by you, 4th row. Let me know if you want me to email you the pics... it'll be a couple mb worth, probably, if your email account can handle it!

Congrats guys

Congrats to bigdan and sean. Great job on placing in the top 5 bigdan! Sean - you would have probably kicked butt at the top of the middies - next time you'll be where you want to be with a little help and some extra experience under your belt.

Anyone who competes and gets on stage in decent condition deserves a pat on the back.

A successful BBer is one who comes in continually better-heavier-harder than their prior show!!-Congrats and what VaMad said-I concur-your a winner when your bare feet hit the wood at 9 or 10 in the am on saturday!!!

In sean's defense, he did everything he was asked to do without fail or hesitation. He has balls of iron. for only training 3 years, he will have a bright future in the sport if he wants to.

How we missed the cutoff, I am still not sure. I have alot of sifting through of info to do and try to figure out what went wrong. he ended up only dropping about 3 pounds or so after cutting water on friday night. it seems to be a water problem, at least at this early stage. as he puts more size on, he will continue to improve and move up in placings.

I share sean's disappointment. everything went according to plan for 12 weeks and things fell apart in the final hours.

convince sean to post the pics of him a day after the show. they are little consolation, I am sure, but they looked pretty damned good.

sean looked very good at the show. he has to remember he is alot younger than the others there. he has a great start alot better than i did at his age. He just needs to stick to it and he will do fine. MEN's open lt hvy at a NAT QUAL. is very tough to start into. Determination will get you where you need to be for example it in Mon morn and i have already done cardio and looking foward to working legs this afternoon. I also want to say sean was alot harder at the night show than in the morn. I think he did a great job and should be very proud of how he looks.

Thanks for the support Dan and Skip--

One thing is for sure, I'm not giving up. It was a great experience and I learned a lot and I also held up my head and didn't run away from the light heavies even when I could have competed in the novice or junior class.

Next year I'm going to come in a lot bigger and harder and I'll be more prepared the second time around. I will post a picture of the day after shots like Skip said--they are my favorite pics by far and it is what I should have looked like on Saturday morning.

Either way, the competition was fierce and I'm looking forward to next year.

Dan you were awesome and I really appreciated talking with you at the show. I'm glad that you helped me out a little bit with things haha as you could tell I was a bit nervous at times.

Also, a HUGE thanks to SKIP. I couldn't have done any of this without him and he helped out TREMENDOUSLY. In all honestly he is what kept me going throughout this whole thing. Even though I got a bit mental at times he kept me sane and let me know that I was going to be OK. I am looking forward to working with him in the future and HIGHLY recommend him to anybody that needs/wants great personal training and attention to details. Thanks again, skip. I'm glad to know you.
