Drink or Eat Your Protein?

Somedays are harder then others, but eating 5-6 meals in a day to hit my goal of 300+ grams a day of protein sometimes feels overwhelming. Somedays I'll drink more shakes and eat less and feel much better.

What are your guys preference/experience?

I started this bulk at 212, trying to get up to 250 by the end of the year so I'm trying hard as hell to eat like a 250 pound person would...
 
Mostly food for me, bro. Even after workouts I eat a full meal after my recovery drink (non protien). Ive been seeing the most results this way for me. I'll still have a shake or two a day but usually just to satisfy my sweet tooth.
 
I try to eat almost all of my food, with exception of what I take when I do my insulin. Everything else is food
 
I think food is better and I think the muscles just seem harder with real food then protien drinks. I do one protien/carb drink after
workout and the rest is real food. When I am strict I feel like a fat pig cus it seems I am always eating and force feeding myself
but my body really responds good.
 
Seems like I need to add some ghrp-6 for those days i struggle to eat, and start weighing out more then a weeks worth of meals at a time...

How often are you guys eating and ow many oz's of meat? As of now I try to take in 8oz of meat or a shake every 2-3 hours starting at 6am ish and ending around 9:30-10 pm. But by mid day I feel like I'm just force feeding, ha ha. Am I trying to take in to much at a time?
 
off season no more than 2 shakes a day, precontest I go to one and then closer I get to the show I dont do any. Gotta Eat!
 
the real question is how many carbs are you getting in daily? I would worry more about that then protein.
 
My carbs are about 10-15g less then my protein at each meal. 2 of my shakes in the morning contain 1/2 cup of blended up oatmeal with 2 scoops of protein, plus a TBSP of natty pb and coconut oil. After that, each meal is 8oz of the that weeks meat and 1.5-2 cups cooked brown rice/white rice mix (50/50) with veggies (raw or steamed). Plus post workout protein shake (2 scoops) and after dinner shake (1 sometimes 2 scoops if I'm not up to where I need to be with calories).

Since I started stuffing my face, I've dropped workouts to 3x a week (started DC and started cruising) but I seem to be losing my lower belly fat faster then when I was on, it's strange. My avi is about 6 weeks old now, but I "think" I look better now. Haven't been in the gym for about a week since I stained my hammy playing some street ball with the neighborhood kids (trying to keep them out of trouble). They all laughed at me called me old man, ha ha! But me and my neighbor still whooped them lol.

Nuknuk, I kow you disappointed because of the diuretics, but you still looked amazing to me brother...

I agree with all of these guys in that you should eat solid meals for your protien and rather then getting it with shakes, however im the opposite and i get the majority of my protien through shakes then i do with whole meals, reason being is i cant eat much at all without getting sick, however i would have to agree with everyone in that u should try to get ur protein in through food brutha

bro you are eating like you are on a contest diet, up the carbs with some different sources, breads, potatoes, fruit, granola, and add some fats through peanut butter and almonds too.
 
Up carbs I shall then! Thanks for setting me in the right direction guys. Now I truely won't be afraid to eat, lol! Shucks I'm buying 2 bags of bagels tomorrow then, and sandwich meat!

I have noticed my best gains when I am stuffing my face BUT with good food. Each meal is some kind of meat, brown rice, yam and
veg. I am older so if I force feed 'crap' It goes more to fat. When your younger sometimes you can eat ANYTHING and grow and
still stay lean. Gettin old is a bitch. Inside every old person is a young person saying "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!" lol
 
I find I can actually eat more food over the course of a day if i eat when hungry as opposed to eating on a schedule.

It's easier for me to cut when eating on a schedule because I never get to the point where I'm starving.

Anyone else have the same experience?
 
How many grams of protein per meal and shake are you guys taking in at a time? Just so I have an idea...please and thank you!
