The 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games are currently underway in Madison, WI, having begun with Adaptive and Age Group competition on August 1 and Team and elite Individuals taking the stage on August 3. The entire competition concludes on Aug. 6, 2023.
2023 CrossFit Games Withdrawals
Below are athletes and Teams that have withdrawn from the competition and when, according to CrossFit HQ:
Individuals
No withdrawals.
Jason Smith of South Africa was provisionally suspended before the start of the Games due to a positive drug test for banned substances. Smith is appealing the decision but is still ineligible to compete pending the results of his appeal.
Teams

CrossFit Believe — withdrew on Aug. 1, 2023.

Men 60-64

Shannon Aiken — withdrew on Aug. 2, 2023

Men 35-39

Lars Kristensen — withdrew on Aug. 2, 2023

Women 35-39

Chelsea Nicholas — withdrew on Aug. 2, 2023

Veronika Vo?íšková — withdrew on Aug. 2, 2023

Shannon Aiken was the 2022 Fittest on Earth® in the Men’s 60-64 division. His withdrawal from the competition guarantees a new champion will be crowned. Aiken is a tw0-time Games champion, having also won in the Men’s 55-59 division in 2017; he was the silver medalist in 2018.
Lars Kristensen, Chelsea Nicholas, and Veronika Vo?íškova all made their CrossFit Games debuts in 2023. Kristensen CrossFit Believe was set to make their Games debut, though the first test for Teams is scheduled for Aug. 3, and they withdrew before then.
Kristensen was ninth worldwide in the Men’s 35-39 Quarterfinal and scored the bronze at the 2023 Age Group Semifinal. Nicholas ranked 137th worldwide in the 2023 Quarterfinal and 11th overall at the Age Group Semifinal. Vo?íškova ranked 18th and ninth, respectively, in the 2023 Quarterfinal and Age Group Semifinal.

CrossFit Believe’s roster was comprised of Jessica Shinn, Lauren Olson, Josh Mattes, Hayden Weddle, Shelby Jones, and Francisco Lopez. They ranked 42nd worldwide in the Quarterfinal and 10th at the 2023 North America West Semifinal.
