I have been getting Acupuncture for years for sport related injuries. I wanted to know if anyone else thinks it works well for them?

injuries are...

never tried it. what type of sports injuries?

1. Lower back injuries from squats, dead lifts.
2. Running injuries from from various Academy type schools

I had work done on elbow, knee, shoulder, back, wrist, and ankle. I think that it worked well fro me to recover fast!

dont they just barely put needles in your skin or somethin? How would that help an injury?

no...

If you have had it done before, then you know that it's more then a needle in the surface of your skin. The Dr. will flick the needle in your skin, then he will twist it until your muscle begins to twitch, some Dr's will then attach electrical leads to the needles and begin a muscle stimulating session for about a half hour, it is a ittle weird i the begining because you body is jumping, but you gte used to it and the injury feels better afterwards.

like the old adage: Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!

Oh i wasnt knocking it at all just wanted to get a better understanding of it. The only thing i knew is what ive seen in the kung foo movies lol. Sounds interesting for sure.

I've always wanted to try it, but you have to be careful to find someone who really knows what they're doing so that has scared me off because I don't expect to find any acupuncture experts around here where I live.

Sounds like the exact same principles as the Tens unit and I LOVE that thing. More for chronic pain and muscle recovery. I love chiropractors and massages, but its a love hate with the deep tissue massage. Accupuncture I'm sure is more specific and even more effective.
