I've mentioned before that I tore my right pec about 8 or 9 years ago. It was while working at a club so I had some workers comp Dr "repair it". He cut it open but didn't fix shit and I got a check for 10K. Since then I occasionally get a little twinge in my left pec when I push heavy weight or on an all out push for that last rep. Its not a "pop" or anything audible. It just feels like fibers pulling apart. Nothing gives out and I push the weight back up. I used to always stop and treat it like a tear, but it just doesn't feel like that. I stretch it and get no pain. I stick my fingers in there... no pain. So today I continued. Wide slightly upward cable crossovers with moderate weight and no discomfort. Wide Hammer Press with moderate weight and no pain just a little instability on my last rep. I'm beginning to think my Dr. Is right and its just scare tissue breaking apart. I'm going to put some heat on it and have my girl crunch it around a bit tonight and have ultrasound tomorrow. Thoughts??

Might be, a deep tissue massage can break it apart too. Will be painful, but will break it up for you

I had my girl work on it last night and had ultrasound on it this morning. I have no pain or discomfort. I'm going to try to get deep tissue again today. I had it done a month ago and it was excruciating. It brought tears to my eyes.

yeah but it will help it out alot. Im already back up to 100lb dumbell on Incline from my pec tear. I think massage helped a great deal in recovery time.

It'll hurt like hell, but it'll break that up better than anything else. It's definitely not fun though

Damn! That was fast!! My Dr is a bodybuilder and agrees 100% that it was scar tissue "pulling apart" he said that ultrasound and several deep tissue massages will not only stop the frequent little twinges I'm getting, but also make me stronger as it will allow muscle fiber to replace the chunks (and I do mean chunks) of scar tissue in my pec. I'm going to try to get in on Monday for deep tissue, but to be totally honest I'm hoping to get at least some vicodin before this one.

Badass... I can't wait to start going back to my weekly massages. Just have to wait for the woman to secure this job so we get our insurance back.

TheDude good news glad thats all that it was and the massages are working for you.

I called my Dr. to see if he could bill my insurance for one of those at home ultrasound machines. I could use it everyday and then maybe a massage every 2 weeks. I couldn't do more. I almost throw up during every one.
