Well i went back today and ill be honest the back still feels damn shifty. Does anyone know any type of good lower back strenghting routines that can be done at home, i tried google but i get a ton a P.T. ones that if i tried any i would probably break my back in two. Any advice will be great.. as i hate when this shit happens right befor summer!!!
 
Best muscle to work for your lower back are your abs bro, they will keep back tight and erect properly,
 
I thought that, and i do abs a couple times a weeks, but i tried to hit them today, and the back wasnt liking it....Damn 30's , i guess ill do some better streching and walking.. How does everyone feel about hypers? and i guess what they call the superman ( not you presser lol ) i mean the strech'es.. Incase you dont know its lying on a flat surface on your stomach and you raise your arms out infront of you and lift you legs up. Any input, does anyone do this type of thing?
 
I used to do hypers but I think they screwed up my back worse. They put a lot of stress on your spine. My back is messed up so I have to watch what I do or I'll hurt myself badly.
 
I think its time to give them up myself, obvisiouly they havent strenghtened my back for shit... I will deff hit stomach a little harder and make sure i do at least a 10 min warm up walk befor working out, along with all my warm up sets and streching. I dont want to be a 31yr old cripple....

I agree with this, and only train abs heavy, with resistance. After doing something that irritates my lower back (i.e. deadlifts), I finish the workout with abs and the lower back pain is gone by the time I walk out the door. Used to hurt for hours afterwards.
 
I would have to agree with the both of you, after thinking about how hard i used to hit abs, and never having back problems, and in recent yrs doing alot of things for lower back and now having problems, esp since i dont do abs like i used too...i will still be taking a couple more days off just in case, it still feels a little off. cant wait to see the dick in the gym...DAMN am i piissed
 
What about LIGHT deadlifts. Just even starting w/bar and going for the feel then
SLOWLY working a little heavier. (unless you tried that already) It worked for me.
 
deadlifts at this point i have to stay aways from...that motion alone would prob mess me up..Im thinking just going light wieght for reps on everything and see how it feels.. To make me even more annoyed i just found out today that a friends bacholer party is july 4th weekend in montreal and i cant even hit the gym like a maniac..less then 5 weeks and i am no where near where i would of liked to be...
 
hey everyone, been a while.
Press is right. To every action theres a equal reaction (abs). Sounds like your back is naturally screwed up from what I've read in your post. This isn't sore muscles from a nice workout right? If this is right try and learn better technique in the gym or learn to protect yourself from injury, hope this helps.........
 
I orignally got hurt at work,, then was almost 100% better, when i made a bad decision to help a friend out in the gym with a spot , when i knew he couldnt do the weight. So i reaggrivated the spot. I had mri's and xrays done and they saw nothing. The conclusion was muscle spasms. Anyway, my techniques are good, i take each rep slow and hold 2-3sec, positives and negatives. Im starting to think its some type of nerve problem, but i can really be just stressing....
 
yeah, my back is so messed up that even if I just sweep the porch for more than a couple of minutes my lower back and legs get really tight, and then myr back and legs
 
do tons of stretching and maybe get some massages, heat, ice therapy works wonders well, then if you can get your doc to prescribe you a mild muscle relaxer called flexirel (sp) that worked wonders for me adn the muscle relaxer didnt amke me all drowsy adn shit..
 
IP your right on, i was taking Flexeril when i first got hurt at work and it did work wonders, it was great...i will be doing alot of streching and was also thinking about getting massages..I wish missing the gym didnt bother me so much otherwise i would just stay home and rest for a couple of weeks, but im sure all of us here on MC know that missing the gym is too hard. esp when your about to go away..

I agree! All those worked for me when my back was messed up
 
Well i am not crippled today which is a good sign, i actually felt so good yesterday after stretching the shit out of my back that i went to gym and had a pretty light but decend workout. Then i hit the shit out of my abs and today the back feels like its improving. Getting ready to go to the gym now, damn chest day and its all ready 12:30, now i also need to get ready for the nuckle heads. lol .. YAY! finally 100 posts lol
