Blood Pressure

What does anyone use to check their blood pressure? The only cuff I can find that is big enough is a thigh cuff, and they don't work on any of the self-inflating machines, only the manual ones, which I can't do myself. Even a office quality self inflating machine has an extra large cuff that is only 21 inches. My arms are not big, but they are larger than that!
This should be a problem for overweight people as well, everyone in the medical field says just to have someone else take your pressure, but I want to check it several times a week....the wrist ones are too small as well.
BTW, it is estimated that 75% of all office blood pressure readings are incorrect :shocked: due to using the wrong size cuff-everytime I go to the doctor I have to tell them which cuff to use!

I have been using the one at the supermarket and just putting my forearm in thier. My arms are 20 1/4 in. and there is no way in hell that I would be able to fit my upper arm in there. The readouts seem to be right though.

^^^that is correct, you cna still use the one at the grocery jsut insert your forearm into the cuff, i do this every time i am in teh groicery, with my wife being a nurse I really dont have that problem nor do i need my bp checked but i just love those damn machines at the store....i get dizzy when it tightens down...lol

Bro have had high bloodpresser most of my adult life with out the gear. When on watch out that fucker is ski high. You are right though....always ask when going to doctor ask for big cuff for you get better reading. Post have home kits and you can order bigger cuff. Watch this!!!!!!!! this is called one of the silent killders over 90 bottom is considered high. I take a med called Attenonal 100mg's a day when on and only 50mg's when off never went over 80-85 (bottom when on both. Good point thanks for the input
