Doctors

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

Now think about this:



Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million..)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500. (Calculation) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

wow thats crazy ...all i can say is my dad had guns when i was a child and i never thought of even looking at them when he wasnt around and same being said i own many guns and my daughter would never even think about looking at it .....the thing is that education is key ....obviously doctors think there smarter then everyone else....so the stats prove otherwise....

yeah but thats accidental deaths, the number of gun deaths period is probably insane when you add in murder, our society doesnt need guns period in my opinion but we do need doctors, however the doctors shouldnt be paid any more money then a teacher is paid

when I was around 10 I used to go in the old mans closet, pick out a 38,
(he was a cop) then in the drawer and try to find loose bullits that fit,
then start shooting at flower pots in the back yard until I heard sirens.

hang on now...don't start bashin docs. Granted there are some shadey ones, but there are a lot of really good ones. And I think they should be paid much more than teachers, unless of course the cost of medical school drops to what the education required to become a teacher is. Honestly, I know that people think doc's make a ton of money, but what I've found out is that it's just working for a wage...like anything else. There are so many expenses that people don't know about until you experience it. AVerage debt from med school is $250,000 and that's not counting undergrad debt and remember you can't work a job in med school because if you do you will be fucked. The study hours are at least 40 hours per week not counting going to class!!! Then you work for $40,000 a year, a good wage, but working 80 hours every week and you do this for a minimum of 4 more years, but hell...if you want to specialize it turns into 6-12 years depending on what you really want to do. So imagine working 80 hours a week for 7 years only netting $40,000 a year before uncle sam takes his cut. Fuck that...doc's don't get paid shit until they get done with residency. And even then 12 years after you've started (if you go with the 4 year residency), when you finally have some money to start paying loans off and to give your family the things they've wanted but couldn't have because you didn't have any money, you've got a $250,000+ debt to pay off which has grown at 6% interest every fucking year so that now you are paying off well over $300,000...and for what. So that you can be a doctor. Then the wife is going to want a house, and junior has to go to college. It's not something to get into for making money. But don't start talking about cutting their salary's...too many people already doing that and I want to be able to make some money by the time I'm 36!!! WTF...this is going to take a long time.

I stand by my comments, doctors shouldnt get paid anymore then teachers, maybe if our teachers got paid half of what doctors do kids of today wouldnt be so fucking dumb, and we wouldnt have to implement "No kids left behind" act wich is bullshit, now im not talking about specialists,surgeons etc, but the regular "sniffles and diahrea" doctors neednt make so much

see they are the ones that make the least already. If we continue to keep paying the general practice docs less and less we will continue to run into the siuation of every med student thinking they must become a surgeon or specialist in order to pay off their loans. This will absolutely lead to a reduction is the quality of physician we get as a general practice doc and these are the ones we need the most because they are the first line of defense. They determine when something is wrong and what specialist we need to go see. However, I do agree that teachers should make much more than they do. I actually would like to see the surgeons and specialists make less money, that way the people who go into those fields do it because they genuinely love it and not for the money. That would lead to better docs all around I think.

The thing is every year Congress tries to decrease medicare payments to doctors and every year docs have to lobby to keep it from happening. If things keep going the way they are going the poor people of american will suffer more than anyone else. The people who live in rural communities. Because this is the place that pays the least for docs. I say decrease the payments to the docs that are making $600,000+ a year and let them do it for close to the same wage as any other doc. That would be much better for our economy than decreasing the wages from a small town family doc who is making $90,000 a year (which is still a lot of money) because that is what he really wanted to do.

The reason the Nazis were able to come after all thsoe groups is becasue Fascist Germany outlawed the private possessionj of weapons, and confiscated them.

Plus, consider the malpractice insurance doctors have to pay (even though 95% of doctors never have a single case found against them). In Massachsuetts, an OB/GYN has to deliver 85 babies *just to cover the cost of the malpractice premiums.* Its insane...

1) Yes, I do believe that an armed Jewish population could have, at a minimum, bought time and prevent some genocide. Just look at the chutzpah shown at the Warsaw uprising. The small victoies of the French Underground resistance ocurred because they were armed. The slaughter of the Lakota at Wounded Knee took place becasue they were UNARMED. History is FULL of examples that prove that the unarmed are sitting ducks.

2) Guns are NOT ruining your inner cities, DRUG WARS are. Statistics show that the majority of murders and gun crimes involve drugs in most cities. End the "War on Drugs," legalize them, and the profit motive in the black market fizzles.

3)I live in a town of 1,800, and there is NO police force. We arm ourselves...and our murder rate is ZERO.

People are lost to drunken drivers. That doesnt mean we should outlaw cars or alcohol.

In fact, we tried outlawing alcohol once, and what was the result? The industry went 100% underground, and spread rapidly. Those who became involved in the trade were those who had little fear of violence and operating inthe black market.

You want to outlaw guns? The Black Market will still exist, except they will ALL be in the hands of the "pieces of shit" you referred to.
