I always put my feet about 4 inches from the top and about a foot apart. Anytime I try to go over 11 plates aside I tear my inner thigh muscles. I'm wondering if lowering and widening my stance would stop the injury. Where do you guys place your feet?

I normally go shoulder width apart or slightly wider, if i go with my feet really close it's odd.

although, yesterday i did 20 reps with my feet close and then anothe 20 wide and that pumped them up big time i could feel the differant areas working.

I go high so I push with my heals and I keep my feet about 2inchs apart at the heal with toes pointed out just a bit. Feel all outer quad.

I use to always go high and wide and go down until my knees hit my chest. For the past few leg days I've kept them lower and closer together and I feel a huge difference in my quads and growth. I feel wider and higher made my legs wider but closer and lower really hit my inner quads. We'll see after a few more workouts how they turn out.

Im gonna give it a shot!:bench:

Depends on what I'm trying to hit, if I go really wide and high then I'm using it for hams, low and shoulder width for quads and reps, middle and slightly outside of shoulder width for a mixture of quads and hams. I prefer to do low and shoulder width since I really only use it for quads anymore

I'm 6-3 and no way could I get my knees to my chest without rolling tailbone and giving me later pain. I'm usually shoulder width stance toes one inch above platform..

Dude, that's 22 plates on leg press. I know your strong but damn bro, your killing me. Seriously, I wonder if you dropped your poundages and increased your reps and volume ,,,. Do you think that would give you better results not to mention increase your longevity in the sport by reducing chance for injuries??

That's only 1080# on leg press, with the back supported I think he'd be fine on this, but I do agree with you that going heavy on other things can cause problems. I just don't think he runs as much of a risk for injury on this machine by going heavy. That is unless he's really sinking down into the seat
