How to use ampules?

I was wondering how to properly use them. I may be getting 30 amps of test and wanted to know how much of a pain they are. Thanks.

Very easy if you do it correct. Get a small file. File down a little bit on one side (where the white line is). Then take a pen cap. Just a cheap BIC pen cap works best. Break the long part of the cap off that holds it in your pocket. Then take the pen cap and put it on top of the amp. Hold the pen cap in one had and the amp in the other. Bend the pen cap back away from where you filed it down and it will snap right off. I would never file all the way through the amp, for fear of getting tiny pieces of glass in the amp. I only know this from getting B-12 in amps.

Pop one open, use a 18ga needle to suck up the oil, switch back to your 23ga
needle to inject

Is there any need to filter it? I was worried about small pieces of glass, I def don't want to suck any glass into the syringe.

yeah and be sure to hold the bottom part lightly as not to crush it in your hand i know because i have done it. and it is gut wrenching loseing your gear like that.

I have never filtered it. You can if you feel the need. I just don't see how if you do it like I said you could get any pieces small enough in the amp that would actually draw in the needle. I would be worried about loosing too much filtering it out. I think the only way there would be small enough pieces to draw up in the amp is if you filed all the way through and it got glass dust in the amp. Also, always get 1 or 2 extra amps in case you break 1 during your cycle.

I've heard a pair of deep sockets work well, using the diameters that match best with the amp bottom and head. No chance of crushing the amp or cutting yourself. Better leverage for a nice easy clean break, as well. As others have mentioned, you can score the neck with a variety of devices, but I've heard that a $5 amp cutter is very convenient. Of course I have absolutely no personal experience, and in no way endorse taking any substance that may be illegal or harmful to your health. Always consult your doctor.
