ideal weight

How much do you weigh now? What are your goals? Ideal is what you want it to be. At 6' I think 225-245 is a good weight, but it depends on your body type, ecto, endo, meso as well. Also if you are talking about an ideal weight in reference to health then maybe 190 with around 8-10% bf. Maybe even a lil higher on he bf too

There are calculators on-line for all your statistics. This will get you close. There not hard to find, I don't have any links right now so I'd have to search like you to find some.

Personally i dont think there is an ideal weight. If you look where the numbers were created 9 times outta 10 there from insurance compaines. R you telling me that everyone at a certain height should all weigh the same amount. There is no ideal bodyweight, the BMI (body mass index) is a bunch of crap its doesnt take athletes and bbr's into account and therefore the numbers are vastly skewed.

Its been shown that 15% for men is considered healhty by ACSM and NSCA who make all the recommendations for fitness. We all know that no one here is goin to settle b/c who wants to be normal, i would strive to get your BF% down to at least 12%.

Surprisingly those calculators would say your ideal bodyweight would probably be in the 170-200lb range. That's just a guess...At 6' My ideal bodyweight would be around 220-225

If ya go by the BMI and my bone structure (small, medium, large) i am supposed to weigh 170lbs and i couldnt drop to that no matter what. When i drop to 6%bf i am no way near that and wont be but that doesnt make me fat or not near my ideal weight.

Personally i think ppl worry bout wieght and they should stress more about your bf%. You can be 180lbs and be 17% and be a fat ass IMHO or you could be the same person and be 225lbs and 10% and be in better condition. Remember the age old saying, "You cant flex fat"

There are calcs that you enter height, weight, %bodyfat, ect. Although not exact they will get you close to what you should weight right now if you wanted to be say 5% BF. Personally I just let the mirror be my judge.

Who do u think comes up with the numbers? Insurance companies and more specifically, actualarial science ppl come up with them. Evryone is diff no one can come up with an exact weight i should weigh if i want to 5% bf. I can do it 190lbs or 220lbs and that right there proves my point.

I'm a registered life and health insurance agent. Insurance companies cannot set the statistics then charge premiums by what they think is the norm. Its illegal and the government don't allow it. These statistics are based on millions of people, not a companies idea. If you'll read no-one said anything about EXACT bf calculations also. Actually just the oppisite was proposed,,,,, "Although not exact".

Not trying to argue but you have no point to be proven. You can weight 10,000 lbs. and be 5% bf. However if your currently 200 lbs. with 15% bf then you can not also be 200lbs. @ 5% at the same time. With your CURRENT muscle mass why is it so hard to get an idea of how many lbs. of bodyfat you should loose to drop say 10%BF? If someone is unable to make these calculations for themselves thats fine, but I can do the math for my own calculations and be very very close.
