I just started a cycle of deca/test and I split them into two shots. I injected 1cc of deca into my shoulder and it immediately hurt like hell. That was 5 days ago. It looks like it it slightly swollen and it hurts if I dont take ibuprofen. It is hard to tell, but I think it is warm to the touch as well. I think I am going to go to a walk in clinic on Monday if it doesn't clear up by then. Do you guys think it is infected or is it just because it was my first shot and in all honestly I am on the small end to start a cycle (5'8 and 175). I'm kind of freaking out, would antibiotics typically clear up an infection like this or is this a serious deal? I don't get it I swabbed alcohol on my delt and thought I did everything right. The other injections so far have been in my glutes and I haven't had any problems there. Thanks guys.

well, shots aren't supposed to "hurt like hell" right after the injection. usually they hurt the next day or so.
what is the first time you've injected in the shoulder? I will say, all other spots are usually more painful than the glutes.

what size pin did you use for the injection? what bf% are you?

Do you have a high tolerance for pain? If not, I'd hit up that clinic as soon as possible. I haven't had an abcess yet, but better safe than sorry.

The injection hurt the same day right after I took it. The pain is actually a little less today. The needle I used for the delt injection was 22 guage and 3/4 inch. The shot itself wasn't bad just the pain afterward. It is nothing that is unbearable, it just makes me nervous. I have to wait until Monday to go to the doctor because the clinic isn't open on weekends. As far as bf% goes I'm not sure, my buddy who is a personal trainer and long time gear user said I look like 15% or so. He said to wait on it a little longer and it should go away, but I don't like to get all my info from just one source. Thanks again.

Try to answer these questions for me; did you inject quickly? Or did you slowly inject to the point where you're bored? The reason I ask is b/c if you inject to fast the body will off the AAS and treat it as an infection causing an abscess to form. This has happened to da_Fonz in the past. Its nothing serious, wet heat for as long as you can stand it on the area and it will susbide. Also, did you wiggle the needle while you injected it??? What size needle did you inject with? Did you switch needles after your drew up the AAS into the synringe? Did you massage the area immeaditely after? Did you warm the vial before you drew it into the syringe? If you havent had any probelms with the other injects then you DONT have an infection based abscess. Its most likely casued from wiggling, injecting too much into the muscle, and not heating the vial. It should subside if you heat the area and massage it. This has always worked for da Fonz in the past and he has both types of abscess also so he has also had to take anitbitoics b/c of it as well but it doesnt sound like you have that issue.

I guess it might have been a little fast. My friend did the injection and I trusted his judgement since he does his own all the time, but he is also a lot bigger than I am. The needle was in for probably 10 seconds or less if I had to guess. The deca and test both come in sachets and not vials so I have to preload the syringes when I start a new sachet. I use an 18 guage for loading and then switch to a 22 for injecting. How would you recommend heating them before injecting? I did not realize this was necessary. The swelling appears to be going down, its about time it will be a week tomorrow since I had the injection in my delt.

10 seconds is way fast. maybe he does it that fast if he experienced and had/is taking alot of shots.

the fact the swelling is decreasing is a good sign though. 22g isnt huge, but I only go 25g in everything but glutes. 3/4inch is kinda short too. I go 1inch and bury the pin to the hilt. too shallow is more likely than too deep.
