Between food and supps, how much do you spend a month on all this? I need to see if what im spending is normal before I totally embarrass myself here...

Honestly its difficult to figure it all out. Say about $600 for food, average 200 - 300 for drugs, $250 for supps, $40 for gym, clothes are very expensive. Its a lifestyle. You either have to live it or don't. I have to, it keeps me focused and sane. This is how I live each day and I make sacrifices to do it.

Okay cool, im between 8 to 9 hundred a month. And I dont even use! Im thinking if I ditch all the money I spend on pre/post crap that does nothing for me and get some anavar or something, I could save a few hundred lol

Yeah, it can be really expensive :( I spend $58 for gym, probably $150/week on food, and a couple hundred on supps. I don't buy it on a monthly basis so I'm just guessing. That's a car payment right there. Oh well...

It's a lifestyle for sure and expensive one no doubt.. I can easily spend 120 a week at the grocery store If I wasn't careful. I'm spending that about every two weeks and 100+ a month to a month 1/2 on protiens, bcaas etc..

Can def add up but like the other guys said it's a lifestyle or LIFEstyle depending on how you look at it. I personally love it and budget accordingly. I feel kinda like the government though if I don't use up my budget I may lose it to my wife's shopping escapades LOL.

i definately dont want to try to add it up.......:crap:

Me either. It would be hard. Supps alone is probably in the 300 range, not mentioning if I have special "supps." Food. Who knows.

are you guys including gear in your supplements? at the beginning of each year i grit my teeth and drop about 400 for an all year membership so i dont have to worry about it again. They drop the price alot if you pay up front.
33 for gym,
400 or so for food
natural supps i dont waste much money on protein vit c, plenty of fats, multi, sometimes creatine, cycle support etc
probably 150 or so here if that.
Id say im usually not over 600 a month, gear wise usually not much here either good friends are hard to come by :).

It is EXPENSIVE!!! And if you compete (especially if you're a girl!), shit... you're dead ass broke, lol. But like everyone else said, if you love it, you live it... I don't go out partying and drinking and the only other place I spend my money besides bills is clothes shopping and I loveeee buying clothes that flatter my physique and highlight what I work so hard for each and every day... so it's worth it to me. :)

I'm with Steph on this one.

It's a very expensive hobby...

That's the truth!! My *************** ex wife who never had a job would spend 5K -7K per show between suits, dieticians, hair, makeup, flight, hotel, car.... she had to have the best of the best.
On the clothes thing I hear ya. I've outgrown all my "big" clothese so I had to get new stuff. $80 for jeans then $30 to have them altered. A badass 3X Salvage shirt that was $105, but didn't need to be altered.
I don't look at it as a choice though. Its who I am.

Shit i buy cheap clothes nowadays since i know they are for limited time lol. Dieting down all my clothes are too damn small now. This winter im hoping to grow back into them and out of them.

I was just going to ask... do you guys have a "mass season" and "lean season" wardrobe, or do you just buy as you go?

I know I'm not a guy, but I've heard many figure and FBBs discussing this so figured it was okay to jump in (plus, since when do I *not jump in?? :p)

I just buy as I go, but I know alot of people have separate wardrobes for when they are bulking and leaning out. I buy something and if it fits, I wear it and if it stops fitting, I stop wearing it. I have a few things I bought before my diet that don't fit anymore and I couldn't be more happy about it. I also have a few things I've owned for a while and couldn't wear in the winter because of my weight gain. :( But I started wearing them again and it's funny how people at work notice I'm wearing something "new" (even though it's old). It's like I went shopping in my own closet!

i've always been able to eat decent and get by with about $75 a week on food (generics mostly, bulk, no specialty items....this is just food....i think many forget that other items they purchase at the grocery store ie toiletries, paper towel, cleaning products and then it's an inflated grocery bill)......on supplements I only use cheap whey protein EAS from sam's club....76 servings for 29.97......)......i do get some meals on the go or go to restaurants a handful of times a month too but i count that in my entertainment budget and not food bill......also this food bill is just for me as a single guy....i don't have any extra mouths to feed

We wouldn't have it any other way, Steph! hehehe

That's pretty much how I do it, too. But I do have my "winter clothes" stored away, which are usually a bit bigger. I only get to wear them for a few weeks a year, and luckily the fashion in winter down here stays the same from year to year, so I never look that outdated. :D
