Living on a tropical island is presenting a whole new problem to me. I used to be able to get out of shape since there was no reason to go shirtless in ND. Well now I have a pool, go diving, and there's a bbq at the beach EVERY damn weekend. Who stays in shape all year long? Also, do you think it will hinder or slow down your progress when trying to put on size?

It's impossible to stay in shape all year long unless your genetics are that way.. I would say it could hinder your gains some if you are constantly trying to stay lean while trying to bulk.. your diet will effect that mostly.. I've found that as long as I eat clean and do cardio (even while putting on size in the winter) I stay in pretty decent shape (smooth look) but you can still see with a change of diet i'd be cut up again pretty fast.. That's what works best for me.. i couldn't imagine staying in shape all year long, i like crappy food too much.. haha

I stay OK year round, but not beach ready. That's just impossible for me. Like PI says, I like crappy food way too much.

for the mass i put on i have to put on some bf no way around it i try not to go over 15-18%

wow- you have to decide what you want- look good/maintain or add size.
With my body type I can add a lot of muscle but body fat comes easily too and I won't worry about parties if I am trying to get bigger..
My two cents but you are a lot younger than I am...

any type of cardio like that will def slow down growth

we would all like to have tha beach body all year round, but since gentics play a huge rold, alot of us can only look that way 6 months
out of the year

I don't stay contest ready all year, but even at 260 I had perfect abs (a bit distended) and good seperation. As mentioned its all genetics. I also do no cardio and very little maybe the last 4 - 5 weeks precontest. The flipside is I shrink down VERY quickly and I have to eat massive amounts of food.

You're a lucky bastard. You're ripped like a cheetah and always 6 weeks away from winning a contest.

im not a lean person to begin with... staying lean all year round is way too hard. il stay lean for a bit after a show if i do one, but after about a month i bulk HARD.... nothing wrong with walking the beach BIG

Man all I can say is head down to the beach and do sprints on the sand. When I was playing football with all the sprinting we didn't I couldn't eat enough! It was the easiest time I ever had staying ripped.

well, after shedding 40lbs of fat, im pretty much never going to eat the same way again. I do plan on still going on bulkers, but they will be short in time frame. I want to stay fairly lean from this point on.

I'm like that myself, except I'm trying to work my way to 260, lol, 230 if I can make it. It's the food that's the really hard thing for me. I don't do much cardio if at all most of the time.
