L-Ornithine is an amino acid that is synthesized in the urea cycle from arginine. L-Ornithine can help reduce ammonia accumulation during fatiguing exercise which can help clear other metabolites that impact fatigue. Ornithine also seems to stack well with arginine and citrulline as these combinations have been shown to increase growth hormone secretion. However, we are lacking any long term data on ornithine’s effects on size or strength so it’s tough to make claims in that realm. Regardless, ornithine looks like it could be worth a try in a pre-workout stack.
