ok. I need a new protein shake. The problem is ive grown sick of all of them. They are too thick and chalky textured. Makes me wanna gag. And I have to sip water with them just to get the taste out of my mouth quicker. I seriously think sipping whiskey is more tolerable now.

if I drink whey isolate or similar, the texture isn't nearly as bad. But I need a slower digesting protein as this is my meal replacement protein shake. That usually means some type of milk based protein will be in it and I believe thats what gives it the chalky texture. Even muscle milk is too chalky for me now. Any suggestions.

Have you tried the internet based protein companies where you can make your own blends? I know they can get a bit expensive but when you look at it they are actually cheaper than many commercial brands.

VPX Zero Impact MRP, they use carbs of real value instead of the shitty dextrose/malto/fructose most use.

i find that adding diffrent types of frozen fruit kicks the taste and flavor up .
what types of frozen fruit do you use and what flavor shake do you put them in? Like strawberries in vanilla protein shakes?

The problem with that is the trial and error aspect. I know I could get a tasty shake from the correct blend, but with so many protein type and flavor combinations, I prefer to take opinions first to narrow it down.

If you want something that digests slower, then you need at least a blend of casein and whey protein. Casein is a slower-digesting protein. I had a really good blend from trueprotein a while ago. I only buy from them when I have more money because they can be on the expensive side. Excellent quality though.

I said hell with it and just ordered protein bars. Easier for me to eat on the go anyways. The shakes aint even that convenient come to think of it.

Yeah, not the most convenient, just a bit above a normal meal. If you decide to check out another shake, Dymatize has some good ones.

I throw in a bannana, Ice and a little fruit juice. Turns out like a slush. Any other
fruit is good also - try a couple different in the same shake. I have even thrown in
some yogurt. Sometimes I throw in cold coffee that I still have in the pot to thin it
out. Hey, kind of like Arnold in that 'demon' move where he even throws in some
whisky. Shit, if it was the old days I would probably be doing that. If I am going for
calories everything but the kitchen sink is fair game.

In my vanillia shakes I put 2 scoops(52gs) powder, 1 heaping tablespoon of peanutbutter,
1-2 chewy granola bars, 1 cup of milk and a handfull of icecubes.......

I kid you not, It tastes just like Capn' Crunch peanutbutter cereal.....lol
