I've never been a good bencher at all, but my bench has been coming up slowly. I have decided to do a powerlifting meet on the 24th if all things go right, but I'm not going to be using any bench shirts just lifting in the raw division. I'm really hoping to get close to 300, but I've never even tried that without a shirt on. Last week I was training with a buddy and we were just doing high reps and I was feeling good so I wanted to do a little test and see where my strength was and put 275 on the bench (most I've ever done raw was 265) and I got it pretty easily. I paused at the bottom like I'd need to in a comp so I'm feeling pretty good about it. I may be able to get a little closer to 285-290 in the next few weeks, but we shall see
