UFC welterweight Nick Diaz will spend a night in jail as part of his plea bargain for two DUI cases, according to TMZ Sports.
The 31-year-old former UFC title contender was arrested last September in California, where he allegedly attempted to vomit evidence away before being made to take a breathalyzer. It was his second incident, as Diaz was arrested the previous year for a DUI in the same city of Lodi.
According to TMZ Sports, Diaz was facing a significantly longer stint in jail but decided to strike a plea bargain where he pled no contest to DUI with .08 or higher, which led to three charges being dropped, including the second DUI. This eventually led to a two-day jail sentence, but he was also given credit for one day served, which left him with just one night remaining from his sentence.
Diaz, who is expected to hand himself over to authorities after his next hearing, will also attend a DUI education course.
Diaz is also currently temporarily suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission for testing positive for marijuana metabolites in his UFC 183 post-fight drug test.
