Paul Hamm out of Olympics?

Anyone hear that Paul hamm just dropped out of the olympics? if so anyone know why? he was almost a gaurenteed gold wtf?

I think it was injurys. Think it was him on the news - hand, shoulder injurys. He
felt bad but felt he couldn't compete at that level with the injurys he still has.
(The gymnist, right??)

It was the injury. He has not recovered sufficiently, and felt that a 100% non injured member could do better. He would have had to no choice in that in team competition, he would have had to do every event in addition to the individuals. Hard for a guy not at 100%.

Yep, the hand hasn't healed enough yet. Too bad, but these things happen.

thats pretty comendable on his part though i would say, cause if it were me, i might want to do the olympics injured and become a hero of sorts,lol
