I have to say that a few years back all i cared about was putting up huge numbers. When i deadlifted i wanted the room to shake and everyone to be like WTF. Now i still care about getting stronger but numbers arent that important to me anymore. After two types of torn cartilage in knees, ruptured biceps, bonespurs and ruptured subscapularis i care about tension on the muscle and getting them to grow more. Strength is still important i want to consistantly keep getting stronger but if im growing that is my main concern.

Well size is always the goal, but strengh normally comes with the size...

Right now im just trying to maintain that size..but honeslty I feel like im growing a little bit ...I guess we will see come contest day...

I'm wanting to put on a little more size for the next couple of months, then starting mid-January, start dicing it up, and maybe get down to 189-195lbs.

Strength because as Chris said size will come with strength most of the time...When we train we try to increase weight each week so working out by only looking at the mirror is difficult to achieve although in the end it may be the better way to workout depending if your goal is to body build. Power lifters should go by the numbers since that's the nature of their competition.

Agreed, BS... if you're a "weight lifter" then your goal is to move as much weight as possible. As a "body builder" your goal is to sculpt your body, no matter how heavy or light you have to lift. I've heard a few pros say they don't lift heavy at all, and it's all about the squeeze and pump... it's all about the quality of the workout for your muscles, not the quantity of pounds you push.
