because im more of a whale these days (270lbs), running on dry land isnt the best for my joints. Im thinking about swimming laps till i can atleast get back down to 250....

I have a heart rate monitor, so i can try and maintain a high heart rate. I tried this before i had one, and found it difficult to really set a pace.

Swiming, I think is one of the best exercises. You are working every muscle. I have seen people lean out swimming 4x a week. As far
as pace goes I would just keep at it. After a while you will get comfortable with it and then play with intensity. Just swiming a couple
of laps is probably what you'll start at if you arn't in swimming/cardio shape. Swimming is awsome but you have to be consistant just
like anything else. (Like you dont know that - lol) Keep it up sucker and see if you really have abb's in there - lol

i found swimming a good way to mix it up, but my joints were at there best when I still run a little, and swim, and just spread the cardio around

I think this is a good option so long as you solemnly swear not to be one of those homos who trot around the locker room naked. Please keep a towel on it and I'll fully support your swimming dances

so the speedos are good to go??? lol...

im going to be doing this. I have to get these pins pulled out of my feet. But as soon as i do, im hitting the pool for cardio!!

I'm with you! I think running sucks!! I don't run at all, I walk when I diet down for a show, but swimming is an awesome idea. I've got some awesome posing trunks.... purple, blue, evena red velvet pair.... I don't think they'd fit you though. Besides they are awesome to trot around in when I get lit at parties.

well... its cardio day!! yaaaa. I still have pins in my feet, but the doctor said the incisions on my feet have healed enough for chlorine.

the month of having my feet propped up all day has me looking like shit. Plus, i went off my cycle before the operation. SO I really look like a fat piece of poo.

But im taking my bp monitor, so i can try to get my heart rate up to 160, im shooting for 20 minutes. Im sure it will be a cluster f...k at first, but ill have it down in a couple weeks. Im about 260 right now.

ok, first off. I couldnt really use my feet cause the pins in my toes kept stabbing the inside. So i think it was a lot harder than normal.... but holly shit is swimming hard!!

After 5 minutes my shoulders swelled up, after 10 minutes my lats swelled up. I had to really push my self to swim for the entire 20 minutes. When i got out of the pool i was dizzy and felt like puking.- could be do to the 50mcgs of clen i took this morning.

anway, im planning on doing this 3 times a week.

that 20 minutes kicked my ass!! i didnt do anything today. Just came home and vegged. Didnt f-up the diet (no appetite) but just layed around all day cause i was wiped!

if you're swimming for health and cardio it's fine....one of the best things you can do....however, if you're looking to get see thru skin i wouldn't recommend it.....because of the amount of time in the water, the body will actually develop thicker skin to protect against the water.....i know this for a fact as all thru highschool i was a competitive swimmer (went to state jr and sr years)......for burning calories though it's just as good as intense sex without the mess!

lol! thanks man. I dont have to worry about being rock hard for some time. I just have to stay off my feet right now cause i had an operation. Plus, running at my weight just destroys my joints. Im hoping i can loose about 20lbs by doing this. By then, my feet will be good to go and i should be able to run.

Taking another crack at swimming today.

i use front stroke only. I guess i could try breast stroke. But im trying to have the least amount of impact on my upper body and still maintain a 140-150 heart rate.

I think breast stoke is harder. Maybe i might try that for the first 5 minutes. Its been taking 10 minutes for my heart rate to get to 150. If i start with breast stroke, maybe i could cut that down to 5 minutes.

Swimming is one the best cardio exercises for me cause I don't get bored doing it....I like to just swim as fast as I can to one side of the pool doing the front stroke, and then on the way back I swim backwards with my arms by my sides and only use my hands and little arm movement to keep me afloat and let my legs do the work but just at a steady pace....this allows me to catch my breath so when I reach the wall I can flip over and go all out again...for me this lets me do it for a longer period of time and I feel like I get a better workout in....the same principles as running as fast as u can then jog till u catch your breath and back at it, etc.

make sure you stay hydrated....just because you're in the water doesn't mean you're not sweating.....especially on clen or fat burners....

I remember going to watch one of my friends in a swim meet in high school. After her race she came over to talk to me and after she dried off she was sweating bullets still.

my traps press up next to the back of my head, and water doesn't really flow there. It gets real hot and sweaty behind my neck. when im done, im not dripping from the pool. thats sweat.
