.... JUST when I thought I was going to have the best summer ever... I severely sprain my ankle hiking. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can still continue to drop my BF% and maintain LBM? I cant really successfully do ANY cardio... the doctor says im lucky I didnt break it... lol... WOW THIS BLOWS. sorry for any harshness im just rather pissed off :curse:

You are going to have to be REAL strict on that diet. Perhaps after it gets a bit better you could get on a stationary bike, maybe not. If you can strap you feet in and wrap the hell out of your ankle.

The only other thing I can think of is treat your upper-body workouts like cardio events. Higher reps, quicker from exersize to exercize, etc. But that could compromize muscle building, but since you're losing bf%, I assume you didn't really expect to 'grow' this sumeer.

I don't know, but it's a bummer man.

I'm in the same boat bro! I stepped in a deep (12inch or so) hole infront of a bar around the corner from my house and sevely sprained my right ankle. To speed up recovery elevate your foot ABOVE YOUR HEART, and ice your ankle about 6-10 times a day for 20 minutes at a time. MSM cream or roll on DMSO work GREAT for reducing inflammation, but only use them after a day or 2 of icing, you don't wanna reinjure it. As far as maintaining mass, just eat as clean as possible, this happened to me in the middle of my diet .

Don't swim in cold water, this sounds stupid but i saw a thing on the discovery channel not too long ago that explained when you swim in cold water your body switches gears and wants to store as much food as fat as possible once you get out. This is because the water RAPIDLY lowers your core temperature so your body wants to return it's self to normal, so once u get out your hungry and you'll store much of the food u eat as fat. Now that i think of it EVERYTIME i went swimming in my pool when it was really cold i came out feeling ALOT hungrier. Just something to think about, me and my useless facts, lol.
