I use Straps, the thinner the better..I only take one wrap around and let the rest of the strap hang down, so my grip is as tight as possible. I always use chalk also.
I hear everyone say, "straps" is cheating..you will never get strong with them. Not one person who has ever said that to me has been stronger then me, so I say they are speaking out of their asses. Your hands will never be as strong as the other muscles you are using, and there is no reason to sell your training short. If you don't use straps, you take away potential gains IMO.
