Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Modestas Bukauskas and Michal Oleksiejczuk is in the works for the UFC’s event on March 27. As of now, a location has yet to be revealed for the fight card,
Bukauskas will look to get back on track after having his seven-fight winning streak snapped in his most recent appearance by Jimmy Crute in October. The former Cage Warriors champion signed to the UFC in the first quarter of 2020 after a successful title defense against Riccardo Nosiglia, finishing him in the first round at Cage Warriors 111 in November 2019. “The Baltic Gladiator” followed that up with a first-round TKO win over Andreas Michailidis in his octagon debut at UFC on ESPN 13 this past July.
Oleksiejczuk will make his sixth octagon appearance and will look to get off the snide in his own right. After an impressive start to his promotional run—which included finishes of Gian Villante and Gadzhimurad Antigulov—the 25-year-old suffered consecutive losses to Crute and Ovince Saint Preux.
