Jimmy Flick | Zuffa LLC Submission wizard Jimmy Flick has his next fight.
MMA Fighting confirmed with sources with knowledge of the matchup that Flick (16-5) and Francisco Figueiredo (12-3-1, 1 NC) have agreed to meet in a flyweight bout at a UFC event on May 8. A location and headliner are still to be determined for that card.
The bout was first announced by Flick on The Corner and The Casual podcast.
Flick made a memorable UFC debut this past December when he finished Cody Durden with a flying triangle choke that landed at No. 3 on MMA Fighting’s Submission of the Year list. It was the 14th career submission victory for Flick, who earned a UFC contract by tapping out Nate Smith on the Contender Series.
Figueiredo, the younger brother of UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo, was also successful in his UFC debut. He outpointed Jerome Rivera at a UFC Fight Island show in January to stretch his current unbeaten streak to four.
