The welterweights are expected to clash at the upcoming Bellator 257 card on April 16 after two previous attempts to book the fight fell apart.
Multiple sources close to the situation confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Wednesday. MMA Junkie initially reported the contest.
The initial pairing was scheduled all the way back in October 2019 but Homasi suffered an injury that forced him out of the fight. Daley ended up facing Saad Awad and won the fight by second-round TKO.
The fight was then booked for a second time at Bellator 241 in March 2020 but the entire event was eventually scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Daley was eventually matched up against Derek Anderson this past October but the British slugger was forced off the card after suffering through a brutal weight cut, which ultimately led to the fight being scrapped.
Now Daley will return in April in hopes of a better showing this time around as he finally looks to climb into the cage for his first fight in over a year.
As for Homasi, he’s currently riding a four-fight win streak with three of those victories coming under the Bellator banner. Homasi most recently competed at Bellator 250 where he knocked out UFC veteran Bobby Voelker with a devastating flying knee at just 20 seconds into the second round.
Daley and Homasi will now settle their business as part of the upcoming Bellator 257 card that will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. with a pair of Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinals also happening that night with reigning light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov facing Phil Davis while Anthony “Rumble” Johnson makes his return from retirement against Yoel Romero.
