After accepting and winning his debut in spectacular fashion in one of the greatest comebacks in recent UFC history, Jones had his win taken away after he tested positive for marijuana and the victory was overturned to a no contest.
With a full training camp this time around, Jones made the most of his second appearance by flattening Mario Bautista with a nasty uppercut to return to the win column as the first fight of the night from Las Vegas. The stoppage came at just 40 seconds into the second round as Jones can now tout his first UFC win for a second time.
“It was very frustrating,” Jones admitted when asked about his first win being overturned to a no contest. “It just motivated me more. I had to treat this fight like it was my debut all over again. I wasn’t losing this fight. Everything was on just on point for this fight and I was here to stay.”

While he had to battle through some serious adversity in his debut, Jones showed control throughout the opening round this time while battling Bautista in the clinch and using a series of leg kicks to eventually set up his punches.@TrevinAJones opens the night with STYLE.

At the start of the second round, Jones’ earlier work paid off as he feinted with a punch and then launched the uppercut that snapped Bautista’s head back and sent him crashing to the canvas. Jones followed up with a few more hammer fists to ensure the fight was stopped as he then celebrated his victory.
With two highlight reel performances to kick off his UFC career, Jones appears to be a prospect worth watching and chances are he’ll find himself with a higher spot on his next card after capping off a second straight knockout.
