Afterward, Brady called to rebook a fight with Belal Muhammad, whom he was originally expected to meet at UFC Vegas 19 before both were ruled out of the event. Muhammad went on to outpoint Dhiego Lima and accept a short-notice fight with Leon Edwards at UFC Vegas 21.
Matthews gave Brady a run for his money in the first with a punch that produced a knockdown. But Brady simply transitioned into side control in top position, and there, he established a path to victory. From there, all exchanges on the feed were followed by takedowns. By the end of the second, Brady was nearing success with a submission as he got Matthews to give up his back after a flurry of punches.
In the final frame, Brady rocked Matthews with a left hook and took top position before punches set up the fight-ending choke. Brady is now 4-0 in the UFC while Matthews sees a three-fight streak, including a win over vet Diego Sanchez, snapped by the up-and-comer.
