Nunes, widely acknowledged as the pound-for-pound best in women’s MMA history and a shoo-in for the UFC Hall of Fame, holds belts in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions and attempts the second defense of the latter title. Her most recent appearance in the octagon took place this past June, when she dominated Felicia Spencer in a featherweight contest.
Anderson, a former Invicta FC featherweight champ, aims to pull off a major upset. As high as a +750 underdog, she arrives at her title shot on the strength of a two-fight winning streak. She most recently earned her first knockout win in February 2020 with a first-round stoppage of Norma Dumont Viana at UFC Norfolk. Her overall UFC record is 3-2.
