Multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting.
Jeffrey (10-2) won four in a row since his first DWCS appearance in 2019, when he suffered a submission defeat to Brendan Allen. That was Jeffrey’s sole defeat in his past nine MMA bouts, a run that includes six stoppage wins to his credit.
Borralho (8-1, 1 no contest) hasn’t lost in eight consecutive bouts in the Brazilian circuit. “The Natural” captured the Future MMA middleweight belt in his most recent bout in October 2020.
The UFC has done 39 DWCS cards since 2017, signing the likes of Sean O’Malley, Geoff Neal, Alex Perez, Greg Hardy, Ryan Spann, Antonina Shevchenko, Maycee Barber, Sodiq Yusuff, Augusto Sakai, Johnny Walker, Thiago Moises and Marina Rodriguez.
