Esther Lin, MMA Fighting A middleweight fight between Ed Herman and Da Un Jung is expected to take place at the UFC’s Aug. 1 event at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
The pair originally were scheduled to meet at UFC Oklahoma City on May 2, but the event was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Now, they’ve agreed to face off in the audience-free APEX, according to a person with knowledge of the booking. FightBookMMA was the first to report the targeted bout.
Herman hopes to make it three in a row after pulling out of a three-fight skid with wins over Patrick Cummins and Khadis Ibragimov. Uncertain about his future after the latter win, he decided to soldier on with a more wrestling-centric approach with 17 years in the pros.
Jung is on a 12-bout winning streak and submitted Ibragimov in his octagon debut this past August. He followed that up with a first-round stoppage of Mike Rodriguez at UFC Busan.
A bantamweight bout between ex-champ Holly Holm and Irene Aldana is expected to headline the summer event.
