At Friday’s official weigh-ins for UFC 251 in Abu Dhabi, all six fighters competing in Saturday’s championship bouts successfully made weight.
Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman meets “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal in the main event, Alexander Volkanovski defends his featherweight title in rematch against Max Holloway, and Petr Yan fights Jose Aldo for a vacant bantamweight title.
Stepping in on a week’s notice after originally scheduled challenger Gilbert Burns tested positive for COVID-19, Masvidal was the last of the six championship bout participants to weigh in. He stripped down and required a towel, but otherwise appeared to have no issues hitting championship weight.

Two fighters missed weight, flyweight Raulian Paiva and bantamweight Vanessa Melo. Paiva weighed in at 129 pounds, two pounds over the flyweight limit for his bout with Zhalgas Zhumagulov. The bout will proceed at a catchweight, with Paiva forfeiting 20 percent of his purse.
Melo weighed in at 141 pounds, five pounds over the bantamweight limit. Her bout with Karol Rosa will also proceed at a catchweight, with Melo forfeiting 30 percent of her purse.
