“F—k 2020”.
That about summed up one-time UFC interim lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee’s feelings after suffering his second ACL tear while recovering from his first one.
Lee tore his left ACL earlier this year and was expected to be out of action for six months. That timeframe has now been considerably pushed back after a tear of his right ACL, for which he recently underwent a second surgery.
Shooting a selfie video after his most recent procedure, Lee kept a brave face after a decidedly unfortunate turn of events.

It’s in Gods hands but FUCK 2020

“I hurt it while trying to recover from this one,” Lee explained. “But honestly, I’m not that discouraged about it. I feel like I’ve been on this path for a long-ass time, like last 10 years, and I’ve seen a lot of this sh*t happening. I didn’t know I was going to have it, but I knew for sure it was going to happen. I guess God wants me to have two strong knees, so when I come back, I’m going to f*ck somebody up.”
Lee’s first surgery was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. His most recent UFC appearance, which came in March at UFC Brasilia, ended in a first-round submission loss to Charles Oliveira. The win took him back to the drawing board after a highlight-reel knockout of Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244.
