Mohammed Usman (pictured, second from right) celebrates a win with brother Kamaru Usman and team | @umohammed97, Instagram One of the top heavyweight prospects is set to headline Titan Fighting Championship’s next event later this month.
Promotional officials confirmed to MMA Fighting that Mohammed Usman, the younger brother of UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, will take on Terrance Hodges in the main event of Titan FC 63. The event takes place Aug. 28 from the InterContinental Miami in Miami and will stream on UFC Fight Pass.
Usman (6-1) looks to improve his promotional record to 4-0 in his first fight of 2020. “The Motor” had signed with PFL earlier in the year, but it was revealed on the Titan FC 62 broadcast this past month that he would be competing at their next event. The 31-year-old capped off an unbeaten 2019 campaign with back-to-back first round finishes of Alexis Garcia and Reggie Cato.
Hodges (2-6) also makes his first 2020 appearance after capturing a one-night kickboxing tournament championship for regional combat sports promotion Xtreme Fight Night. The 36-year-old has won two of his last three MMA fights, but is coming off of a loss in his most recent bout in September 2019.
The vacant Titan FC flyweight title will be on the line in the co-main event as surging prospect Christian Ynastrilla takes on Wascar Cruz.
Unbeaten welterweight Roman Faraldo will also compete as he looks to make it four straight finishes against Legacy Fighting Alliance, Ressurection Fighting Alliance, and Bellator veteran Tommy Aaron.
