Esther Lin, MMA Fighting There’s been a change to one of the under the radar matchups on the UFC’s Nov. 7 event.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Jack Shore is out of his scheduled fight with Khalid Taha due to visa issues and stepping in will be Raoni Barcelos on short notice. The event takes place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Taha first announced the change on his Instagram account.
Per a source close to the situation, the plan is to rebook Shore for the promotion’s Nov. 21 event against a new opponent.
Barcelos is one of the bantamweight division’s bright unranked contenders and looks to extend his eight-fight winning streak. The 35-year-old has won all four of his octagon appearances, which includes finishes of Kurt Holobaugh, Chris Gutierrez and Carlos Huachin, along with a unanimous decision win over Said Nurmagomedov in his most recent bout this past December. Barcelos will make his first walk to the cage in 2020 after a scheduled bout with Cody Stamann was pulled in March due to COVID-19 concerns.
After dropping a decision to Nad Narimani in his promotional debut, Taha picked up back-to-back finishes of Boston Salmon and Bruno Silva. Prior to signing with the UFC, “The Warrior” competed for organizations such ad RIZIN FF and Brave CF.
The UFC’s Nov. 7 event will be headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight matchup between Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira.
