Ive been reading a lot about the dc training and cant wait to get fully into it im not going to bother with rest pauses till after the new year as im kind of watchin what i eat and im gonna do a couple of ml of longr3 igf-1 to try and rid of some of the fat. i see dc thinks a lot of glutamine ive never tried it before the only supplements ive ever tried is protien do you guys use and if so how do you use it???????. im going to thailand in january so when i come back im going to hit the gym as hard as possible without overtraining. ill do a bit out there but because of the heat i can hardly eat.

From my own personal experiences

Glutmaine doesn't do shit. I've used the powders and capsules.

I know a lot of guys here will say it's good stuff, but it didn't do anything for me and I'd rather spend my money on a higher quality protein Isolate or a good creatine.

Creatine is where it's at for legal supps.

True zylo glutamine might not have immediate results or noticeable but recovery is shortened.

L-glutamine is the #1 amino acid in skeletal muscle tissue and 2nd is taurine. I take both post workout to help repair the muscle I tore up along with a creatine ester (all is absorbed-unlike other creatines) and of course some whey protein, sugar and a complex carb and all of this is downed after an ALA (R isomer is the best and most effective) tablet which is a great antoxidant, liver protectant and helps shuttle everything into muscle cells due to its insulin like properties.

Oh yeah get TAG which is Trans Alanyl Glutamine is the best and most effective kind of glutamine whereas regular L-glutamine is not all absorbed.

L-glutamine is also great before bedtime to help with natural GH release along with arginine and ZMA...that's what I take every night.

Bump that...........you also get good amounts of glutamine in whey protien so suplemental glutamine may not be neccesary

What is a Creatine Ester? I thought there was basically one kind of creatine that you bought? Is the ester also in powder form ?

Any good websites to get Creatine Ester?

I'll give the TAG Glutmine a try as well, I'm pretty sure all I tried was that L-Glutamine and IMO I didn't recover any faster using that or notice any difference and I used it for three months.

Do supplement stores carry the TAG as well? Or is there a special place you get it from? Any good online sites carry it? I don't recall seeing it on shelves anywhere.

Oh yea, Proud, is that you in your Avatar? Looks incredible!

I have used glutamine for years and defintely does help me recover faster-

Lots of new information coming out on creatine including the heretical scientific proof that carbloading does not help in the uptake in creatine.

Zylo: Just search "creatine creatinine supplement" and tons of information on the creatine esters will come up.

OTH I take creatine pyruvate for the calcium and heart benefits. So there is more than 1 form of creatine out there in the supplement world.

yeah bro Glutamine is incredible in my opinion, its one f those things you cant see it work immedialty or feel it work right away but in time you will see and feel the difference especialy in recovery time, it is also great injected believe it or not

I'll give that TAG Glutamine a try for 6 months and see how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestions guys'

Aminos that help with recovery of muscles: most of them do, but the main ones emphasized with research are the 3 BCAAs, L-Glutamine, L-Ornithine, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Glycine, N-Acetyl-cysteine, and OKG (Ornithine bound to glutamine).
Other recovery aids: Creatine, several nootropics, sodium bicarbonate, fucoidan, Vitamin E (gamma especially), Vitamin C, B Vitamins especially Niacin, B5 and B6, brewer's yeast, avocados, Lemons, and eggs.

There are plenty of others but they were too expensive for me to try on myself.

edit addon: Citrulline Malate and Magnesium Malate. Ease into the use of the magnesium. It took me 4 months. The first 2 weeks at a 1/4 teaspoon dose re-introduced me to the reason some laxatives use magnesium as their base.
I can now take 1 1/2 teaspoons w/o a problem.

i love glutamine. like presser said, i didn't notice something right away but after a while i noticed my tendons in my knees were feeling much better. also, i seemed to be recovering faster as well.

I have to agree. For a while I was only able to afford soy protein (which I found out later was not good for males--but that's another story), but when I found a good whey protein (which had a lot of glutamine in it) that I could afford on a regular basis, I noticed my recovery time drastically improved.

I'm using 40-50g's of glutamine a day and it's workin like a charm! REALLY cuts down on recovery, i take 10'gs when i wake up, 10 pre-workout, 10 postworkout, 10 in a shake mid-day and 10 before i go to bed. It has MANY benefits, boosts immunity, increasing your body's ability to store carbs as glycogen:D
