A gym in my town just opened and I checked out its website.
It seems to have alot of different techniques and has all Nautilus Equipment.
I am not exactly sure what that means and was wondering if you guys could give me an explanation.
Do you think its a good idea to sign up for ??

heres the website if you want to check it out

Thanks

its good to go to a gym that has a wide variety of equipment, I personally do not like any kind of machines, except Ab machines. I feel like they take away on not only weight, but stabilizer muscles, Im a big fan of dumbells and benches.

I think any good gym has a mixture of machines and free weights. While free weights and cables form the core of a good workout; machines are important too -- whether for isolation or for mixing things up. In fact, some body parts really should have a machine supplementing free weights to get a full workout. These include hamstrings (leg curls), and triceps (machine dips).

Machines are also critical if you don't have a spotter in order to have safe workout.

Nautilus makes fine equipment -- probably the best machines (other than Hammer). Having said all this, the gym in your link truly concerns me -- the reason being that I saw no reference to free weights or cables at all. If this is the case you want to keep looking -- you need free weights and cables more.

Thanks for your opinions.
I do felt it was kind of weird that they do not mention dumb bells or the use of cardio machines at this gym.
I think im going to keep looking.
The problem is I might only be in this town for a month and theres only 3 gyms to chose from
1. has quite a bit of equipment but they want 75 dollars for registration and 60 a month. I might only be here for a month so cant justify paying 135 to use the gym for a month there.
2. Is a hotel in the area that has a gym. I went and looked at it and they have 2 treadmills, 1 Eliptical, 1 erg, and 1 universal gym and they are trying to charge 60 bucks a month too
3. This new gym that only specializes in Nautilus. And it says that you have to work out with one of the trainers while you are there. So you always have someone following you around and they dont have free weights.
Its ridiculous.
Canadian Small town Gyms rip people off !!!!!

Join the Nautilus club! Mike Mentzer and his brother Ray say it is the best equipment ever made and if Arnie would have used it he would have even been better!lol OK...I know...bad joke...RIP Mike and Ray. Forget that Nautilus shit...find a gym with real iron. :)

Yeah for get that b.s. just look at the pics of the little guys and trainers in that GYM and that should answer your question.... Machines are ok but not a whole gym full of them.... Machines I may use onece in my arm work outs but other then that no thank you unless I have an injury but a whole gym is not worth it.

If you aren't a big fan of free weights, go for it. Even though, I bet it would have a good deal of free weights anyhow.

Damn, my dumbass just noticed your handle of 'fitchick'.lol Disregard my prior post unless you are a competing bodybuilder. Unless you are a female that competes in bodybuilding shows or powerlifting, Nautilus is just fine for getting a nice, toned body. It all depends on your goal. However, it _would_ be nice if they also carried another line of machines and maybe some dumbells/barbells to break the boredom. I imagine Nautilus alone could become quite monotonous after awhile. :)
